# How does client onboarding work at Altiora?

**No account is opened before a KYC/AML review. Once the review is complete, the client's segregated custody and trading accounts are set up and a named contact is assigned.**

The sequence is:

1. Compliance review: identity checks (KYC for individuals, KYB for companies) and anti-money-laundering checks.
2. Account set-up: segregated custody and trading accounts in the client's name.
3. Start of activity: execution, custody and payments within the same relationship.
